Wow! Where has the time gone. . . .

We have been so busy over the last few months. Grant is a world champion speed crawler. He can flat out move! Sometimes when he is crawling his hands cannot keep up with his legs and he ends of on his face with his little booty stuck up in the air which is too cute. I wish I had a picture of that, but his recovery is too quick. He is also so very close to walking. He actually took two steps the other night unassisted walking from Daddy to Mommy, but the only problem is replication. We cannot get him to do it again. He would rather just crawl over to us because he can do it so much faster, but he can also cruise around furniture with the best of them.

Grant has had a lot of changes other than walking in the last few months. At school, he switched from the infants class to the crawlers/walkers and now that class has been consolidated with the Toddlers class. Who knew that we would have to worry about school consolidation at such a young age and especially when you are paying for it? It was a difficult transition for him. He had been with Miss Linda, Daisy, and Katie since he started at three months old, but it was time as he was crawling over the infants (literally over them) and taking away their toys. Now he is the youngest child in his class and before the consolidation was the only boy in a class of five. He was spending lots of time with the ladies who are all little cuties.

A couple of weeks ago, we started going to Water Babies at the Swim Ranch. Grant has done excellent. The family that owns the Swim Ranch is awesome. You can tell they have been doing this for a long time with lots of age groups. He seems to think the water is pretty okay. He has practiced getting the water out of his face by doing motor boat which he excels at doing. He and Daddy practiced getting in and out of the pool the correct way and jumping in on the count of three. He has not mastered kicking your legs yet, but none of the other kids in his age range have either, so I think that we are okay. I hope you like all of the pictures because we have made many. We also bought him a little blow-up pool for the back porch which he liked quite a bit until his face slips into the water. He did not like that at all and was ready to get out immediately, but you will all get to see how it happened because Daddy got it on video.

Oh, and one last thing, Grant isn't talking other than the occasional Mama, but his favorite word (and person) Dada he says all of the time. He is trying to make the same sounds that we make. He will often imitate the same inflection of his voice that his Daddy just did when Tim has been talking to him. It is so cute, but I have not found much of anything that I don't adore about our little boy.

Have a great weekend & Happy Father's Day!

Grant is Eight Months Old!

First of all, I have to apologize my timeliness as a blogger is terrible.

Grant is getting so big. The last eight months of our lives have absolutely flown by. Grant has been sitting up unassisted for the last 6 weeks, but now he has gone a step further and is sitting himself up on his own and took his first step crawling this past Sunday. We are planning on baby proofing the house this weekend.

This past weekend we went to Hot Springs for the third annual Williamson-McFall Horse Racing and Shrimp Boil. Unfortunately, we didn't win any money at the races, but we did have a big time at Hamp & Dara's house (Clay's parents) for dinner on Saturday night. The food was amazing as always and the company was so fun. Scotti and Clay grew up with a bunch of characters. Grant got to stay with Mimi while Dad and I went to the races, but he did go to dinner with us and stayed up way past his bedtime. We got some super cute pictures of Grant the twins-Britt & Brodie.

Grant's school is out for Spring Break on Friday, so Mimi is coming up to take care of Grant. She is hoping to take him to the park if the weather is nice. I have lots of pics that I need to get posted.

Grant Walker is 6 Months Old!

Grant will be 6 months old on Monday, January 26, 2009! It is amazing to me how quickly time has passed. He is hitting all of his milestones perfectly for a boy his size. He is rolling over constantly. He is trying so hard to crawl. He gets up on his knees or sometimes on his toes sticking his little booty up in the air and pushes himself forward--there is only one small problem--his face in rooting around on the blanket or the carpet. He has not figured out how to coordinate his arms & legs at the same time to maximize movement. Grant thinks Daddy is so funny. Tim gets him laughing so hard with the games they play. We need to get some new pictures posted of him. I will try to do that soon.

We got some get pictures of Grant with Britt & Brodie. Grant looks like a monster baby sitting with them, but they were so cute together. I hope you all have a great week!

Happy New Year!

Well, it has been quite a while since I last posted you on Grant. So sorry about that. . . my New Year's Resolution is to be a better blogger (yeah, right--who am I kidding). We have a had a busy couple of months since my last post. Grant is continuing to get so big--he is five months old. He weighs 19 lbs and is over 28 inches long. We had to convert him over to the "big boy car seat." He is rolling over all the time and trying so hard to sit up. He gets so frustrated that he cannot sit up without assistance. He has also started teething. Experienced parents and doctors say that his bottom two teeth are coming, but Tim & I cannot tell if he is making any progress. He wants to chew on everything and just grinds his gums together--they must hurt so bad.

We had a good first Christmas with Grant. Grant got all kinds of great toys, books, clothes. He is so blessed to have so many people that love him. The only thing that made it not a great Christmas is that we were all sick with the stomach flu. That put quite a damper on the festivities, and unfortunately, we infected my mom & Tim's mom in the process. It has taken Grant a full week to start eating normally again.

Grant has the sweetest disposition. He is constantly smiling and cooing! Tim & I are amazing at how lucky we are to have such a great little boy!
